Fundraising work in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Belfast, Manchester.
No experience needed and no cold calling. You will be in a supermarket, a shopping centre or on a doorstep, on behalf of the biggest charities in the UK, asking people to support them.
Straight with you
Four things you should know before you apply.
A day rate, with commission on top
You are paid for the hours you work, whatever happens on the day. Commission is earned per sign-up and offset against that floor, so a good day pays more and a bad day still pays.
Trained before you go out
Safeguarding, the Code of Fundraising Practice, and the script for the charity you are working. The training cannot be clicked through. It is measured on what you actually watched.
Promotion on numbers, not favours
The steps from fundraiser to team leader and beyond have written criteria: volume, how well your sign-ups hold, weeks at standard. You can see exactly where you are against them, on your phone.
Your money, visible
Your earnings update as the day goes. Your statement arrives on your phone, and if you think a line is wrong you query it there and somebody answers.
The role
What the job involves.
- Providing high quality customer service
- Carrying out basic sales and sign-ups
- Processing sign-ups through our in-house systems
- Promoting the client's brand
- Handling objections, queries and questions
- Working with the team to hit and beat targets
- Taking part in training and development to sharpen your skills
What we offer
What you get in return.
- Performance-based earnings on top of your day rate, with target-based incentives
- A clear path for career growth and development
- Networking opportunities
- Travel, both within the UK and internationally
- An immediate start, in whichever office is nearest
The day
A shift, from the morning meeting to the board.
The morning meeting
Yesterday's numbers, today's target, and who is going where.
To the site
A supermarket, a shopping centre or a patch of doors. Directions on your phone.
Badge on, clock in
A photograph of you and the stand, and you are on the clock.
The conversations
Logged one tap at a time. The script and the disclosures are on the screen.
Clock out
Your numbers for the day, your earnings so far, and the board.
Honestly
What we are not going to pretend.
- It is on your feet all day, often outdoors, talking to strangers.
- Most people say no. The job is being straight with the ones who might say yes.
- The first four weeks are guaranteed at the day rate while you learn. After that you are expected to be at standard.
- You are a paid fundraiser and you say so on every conversation. Anyone who will not is not for us.
- Everything you do on a shift is logged. That protects the charity, and it protects you.
How you progress
A path with the criteria written down.
Each step has named criteria, and your phone shows you what is left. Nobody is promoted on a good week or a good word.
Step 1
Fundraiser
Trained, badged, on the rota. Learning the script and the stand.
Step 2
Senior fundraiser
At standard week after week, with sign-ups that hold.
Step 3
Team leader
Running a stand and the people on it. First pick of the road trips.
Step 4
Office
Planning, training and managing a city. The same numbers, one level up.
Skyeline
Your money
Today so far
Earned as the day goes, before you clock out
This week
Against the standard, and against last week
Your statement
Issued to your phone; query any line
Your journey
What the next step needs, and what is left
Your phone
Nothing about your pay is a mystery.
Your earnings update as you log the day. Your statement arrives on your phone, and if a line looks wrong you say so there and somebody answers. Your shifts, your messages, the board and your journey are in the same place.
Life at Skyeline
The team, the road, the office.
Road trips
Launch weeks away, with travel and a bed covered.
When a campaign opens somewhere new, a team goes for the week. Seats are earned off the boards. Travel and accommodation are covered, and the trip has its own channel so nobody is chasing a group chat for the plan.
Apply
Four fields and a phone number. We will ring you.
Your application goes straight onto the recruitment list in the office nearest you, not into an inbox. Somebody will call to arrange a chat, and if it goes well the training starts before your first shift.
